Standard gas (also known as laboratory gas) are special industrial gas products. The reference gas is used to calibrate the gas meter or to calibrate the fixed gas detector. As recommended by the manufacturers, gas meters should be calibrated at least every 6 months. In addition, the device should be Bump tested before each day of use. (Bump test is to check the response of the gas sensor and the ability to activate the alarm of the machine. This ensures the machine is working properly before use).

Purpose of using standard gas

Any measuring device needs to be recalibrated after some time. Due to many reasons such as: Change of components, change of use environment, contamination from measuring environment… Particularly for gas meters, calibration is even more necessary because most sensors operate according to Electrochemical principle, chemical composition will change after each measurement, or change by itself due to natural chemical reaction.

The recommended time varies depending on the manufacturer. As the company BW gas detector requires a period of at least 180 days, the company ISC gas detector recommends at least once every 3 months. In addition, there are MSA gas meters and RAE gas detectors that have their own requirements depending on different technologies.

• Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) 50ppm balance air cylinders – Model 8AL
• Gas bottle contains 25PPM Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), 100PPM Carbon Monoxide (CO), 0.35% Pentane (C₅H₁₂), 19% Oxygen (O₂), Balance Nitrogen (N₂)
• Gas bottle contains 25ppm Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), Balance Nitrogen (N₂)
• Gas bottle contains 10ppm Ethylene Oxide (C₂H₄O), Balance Nitrogen (N₂)
